2016 FOUR Chardonnay
Sta. Rita Hills
This years FOUR will not dissapoint. Another very small (10) barrel selection of wines that as they develop, inherently express more earth, more complex textures and just an overall - "FOUR-ness" as we've come to call it (you know what we're talking about if you've had it).
AGING: This wine saw a little over 15 months in barrel (25% new French / the remainder neutral oak) and while she's tasting amazing, she's in early adulthood to be sure. This wine is built to last!!
TASTING NOTES: Quince, Asian pear, river rock, fresh nutmeg and Meyer lemon. Flavors of lemon cream, key limes and lemongrass. A lot of spiciness reminiscent of ginger snap cookies. Rich on the mouthfeel but leaves you salivating from the acidity. Finishes with subtle hints of marzipan and baked apple.
